Poison-Me Elmo!

The leading toy maker, Fisher Price, is having to recall several of its popular toys including Big Bird, Elmo, Dora and Diego characters due to excessive amounts of lead being found in their paint. In case you are wondering, fisher price is recalling 83 types of toys while the recall is effective for almost 970,000 toys. The toys were sold by a Chinese vendor between May and August of this year in the United States.

This recall is the first for Fisher Price for issues related to lead in the paint and for its parent company, Mattel Inc., this is the largest recall since 1998 when they pulled a whopping 10 million Power Wheel toys. Mattel is known for its quality control methods and how it operates in China and this recall is an eye opener for other toy makers. Almost 2/3 of these lead tainted toys were held back before they even made it to the store and even though Fisher Price tried to keep this under covers for a short while, the news was prematurely posted online.

Fisher Price is still surprised because it has a strong long standing relationship with its Chinese vendor which is known for applying the paint to its toys. Fisher Price hopes to strengthen quality controls and be able to provide higher quality toys. There was even more buzz about this story because the product affects children. How does this affect your thoughts about stricter quality control measures?

Get Paid $50 to Increase Your Link Backs!!

I didn’t think such a thing was possible. I had made a post about how you can increase your PR by increasing your backlinks and I had created the “Jump Start Your Page Rank” train which has picked up a lot of steam but, my friend Tyson at SomeMakeMoney.com is going to raise the stakes. For anyone who hasn’t jumped on the train, he will give you a chance to win $50 just for posting the chain on your blog. So let me this right, you get the opportunity to increase your back links and at the same time the chance to win $50? Thats right! The best part is that he has limited the number of entrants so that way you have a better chance of winning. So far only 47 more places are left and to avoid being left off, go ahead and sign on now. The faster the spots are filled, the faster the results will be announced!

All you have to do is head over to his post which can be seen here and copy the post from his blog and comment and let him know that you have posted it. It can’t get any simpler! Some blogs have you write reviews but this one is just a simple copy, paste and ofcourse you can possibly be $50 richer! So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and check it out!

Posing With ShoeMoney & Flipping Rich Shirts!

So, I recently won a contest at DerekSemmler.com and I got a ShoeMoney t-shirt, a FlippingRich.com t-shirt and a ServerGraph squeeze toy. I really like the shirts and even though its sad that I am a little too small for them, I wanted to say Thank you to Derek Semmler, ShoeMoney, FlippingRich and Servergraph for the stuff. Derek was kind enough to include a note with the t-shirts asking if I would wear the shirts and take a picture with them. Heck yes I will. Only problem is, they are a little too big. But anyway, I decided to hold them instead and here are the pictures for your viewing pleasure. Ladies, control yourselves … just kidding!

ServerGraph
First Up was the ServerGraph squeeze toy.
Its sitting on my shoulder giving me guidance!

FlippingRich2
This is me thinking as the magical FlippingRich.com T-shirt
floats over the shirt I was wearing

ShoeMoney
Lastly, heres the ShoeMoney shirt. Wish I had Jeremy’s luck!

Why The Sunglasses?
So those were the pictures as promised! You may be wondering, “Enkay, why the sunglasses?”, well I have an answer and the reason is because I have prescription glasses that I wear in my daily life and I prefer them to contact lenses. When I take a picture with them on, you see two bright white spots instead of my eyes, so I rather wear my sunglasses but, I decided to take a picture with my regular glasses on and you can see it below with one of the other pictures I took.

Want To Have Your Shirt Featured Here?
I’ve decided that I will accept shirts and in return make them look really good on my blog. If you send me a shirt, I will take a picture of me wearing it or holding it (if its too big/small) and link back to your blog. Sound familiar? Its sort of like ShoeMoney’s Free Shirt Friday, but I will make your shirts look real good! Just look at the pictures above! Anyway, if you would like to send me a shirt, email me and let me know!

Hope you liked the post, I also spoke to Derrik Dyka of FlippingRich.com and he will be sending me a few shirts to give away on my blog so as soon as my 1GB Video Player contest ends, I will be giving away a few FlippingRich.com t-shirts and unlike other contests, 1 in 10 entrants will win! How is that for odds? Thanks for reading! :)
