Win The Video Player Again!

Video Player

I would like to say that I am having another competition but not this time. My good friends down at The King Kong Blog have decided that giving it away is a great idea. I know that Nick has always wanted this kind of player and I will try to find him a place where he can actually get it. Well, lets get back to what I was saying. Mahdi has decided that he wants to see a nice spike in his technorati and has decided to give away the player in a contest of his own. The rules are pretty much the same and keeping them simple will help him in getting lots of entrants. If you remember, my contest had around 50 entrants and thats a good thing because your chances of winning are higher. So if you want a great player for FREE then you should check out the contest and get entered! Good luck guys!

Heres a link to the contest post! Have a good weekend everyone. Obviously, I will have a confusing post about my Page Rank soon! :)

Also, here is a video that someone had recommended to blog about so here it is. Its under 2 minutes and its quite well made and its about web hosting! Hope you like the link love Rajan.

HD Radio

Dont you just feel annoyed when you try and change the dial only to hear your favorite song playing but it doesn’t even sound clear? Hearing a lot of fuzz that is not music to your ears? Well all I can suggest is that you need to get an HD Radio Receiver as it drastically improves the quality of audio that comes out of your speakers. Having HD Radio makes your commute to work or school pleasing and if you know what HD Radio sounds like, then you know what I am talking about. You can also buy an iPod dock with iTunes Tagging that allows you to hear a song on the radio and “tag” it so that once you get back to a computer, your iPOd will download the song you heard on the radio and wanted to download. There are high definition radio stations available in all parts of the country. There are New York High Definition Radio stations, Florida stations, Texas stations. It doesn’t matter where you stay. An HD receiver will acquire those signals and make you realize how clear Digital HD Radio truly is. If you haven’t thought about it yet, now is the time to do so!

Is JohnChow the Walmart of Blogging?

John Chow - Walmart

Ever wonder why the small businesses in some towns are being eaten away when a Walmart is the new attraction in town? Well, I thought about it and its true, Walmart provides killer deals, has better brand recognition and well has more resources. Recently I thought about this analogy of John Chow being the Walmart of blogging. Although some might argue that the “big dawgs” (being a big dawg is a good thing, trust me!) of blogging are Darren Rowse or Shoemoney or someone other than John Chow, I would say that when it comes to making money through a blog, nobody does it better than John Chow. Also, the fact that John Chow is very open about the income he makes from his blog also helps in making that statement. Now, what do I mean by John Chow is the Walmart of Blogging?

Well, lets take a look at this idea. How many money making blogs are there? You would probably say about a few million. Next question, how many make more than $1000 a month and then the answer would probably be, a few thousand. Im not trying to say that John Chow is eating the competition up alive but then you might argue, what about your blog title? Well, thats just an eye catcher for the most part. Now getting to what I am trying to say, is that the top 1% of money making blogs are dulling the shine of the newcomers in the business. In other words, the more popular you are in terms of familiarity with your readers and in making money online, the more business you consistently earn.

On the other hand of this spectrum are new bloggers who may have great content but aren’t able to stand out of the bunch because the bloggers who have been around a while are still holding their place. Then again, this is the situation in pretty much every industry – its called “first mover advantage.” The concept of the first mover advantage is that if you are the pioneer in a certain field, then it can be safely said that you will still remain in the Top 10 lineup if you maintain yourself. On the other hand, if you are a new entrant into this pre-established field of experts then you will have a harder time getting up there.

Alright, so lets stand back and take a look at this again. Its no joke making money online, its a tough business and there is definitely going to be competition but all it takes to withstand the forces of making money online is perseverance. My main theory is never give up and you have to try something before you throw it out the window. Once again, I’m not saying that John Chow is the newbie killer (he is the panda killer though!) but what I am saying is that it has become harder for new bloggers to achieve fame and fortune in the world of making money through blogging. Hopefully you enjoyed reading this post and I want to know what your thoughts are about the idea that it has become harder for newcomers to make as much money online. Thanks for reading guys!

[Update] – John Chow responded saying

Shouldn’t it be ChowMart? :)

Thumbs Down For TTZMedia

TTZMedia

About 11 days ago I got accepted into TTZ Media and decided to integrate the ads immediately into the blog. I added them at the bottom of the post because those seem to be a good place as it has helped generate a lot of clicks for my Google ads. The difference between Adsense and TTZMedia is that TTZ Media pays 15 cents per click whereas Adsense pays a varying amount per click. Either way, I was excited to see how well TTZMedia was doing.

Unforunately after 10 days it earned only $.60 or 60 cents. Compared to the first 10 days of this month with Google Adsense this amount is not even close, considering the fact that I made $10.73 in those 10 days. Ever since I have removed the Adsense ads, I have seen a tremendous drop in earnings as Adsense earnings dropped to $.60 as well in those 10 days. Comparing the earnings of TTZMedia to Google Ads, there is approximately a 640% drop in earnings and this is enough for me to change my mind about the ads.

All this means is that I will be reverting back to the Adsense ads as they seem to perform a lot better. I had better expectations from the TTZMedia Ads and please do not misunderstand this as “bashing” because its not. The results were unsatisfactory to me and I’m going to have to hook up with Adsense again! For those of you who have installed the TTZMedia ads, how have they been performing for you?
