How To: Avoid Writers Block

December 18th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Blog, Make Money Online

Every once in a while you probably have the whole situation where you’re thinking to yourself, “I really don’t know what I can blog about” but you have to realize that your readers are interested in reading something that is interesting, they can relate to or informational. If you are a make money online blog and one day you blog about how you have lost money on a particular affiliate program (i.e. picking a less profitable ad over a more profitable ad), people still want to read it. The reason for this is because if you only show the good side of things, you are misleading your readers into believing that everything is perfect. Anyway, getting back on subject, here are a few tips to avoid writers block:

1) Pick out a few topics -This is something I tend to do quite often and its usually when I am having a good day writing my blog post. I will pick out a few topics (not posts) that I have some opinion about and that way, when I am stuck on what to blog about, I can pick one of those topics and blog about it. It may not sound really helpful but once you try it out, you will see for yourself.

2) Timestamp is your friend - If you have a busy schedule then this is for you. You can actually “Timestamp” your posts in Wordpress allowing you to write a post today and have it published at a time and day specified by you. I do like this idea however I prefer writing fresh posts because it helps me remember what I last blogged about.

3) Look at the news - If something is news to you, then it most probably is news to others too. If you read other tech sites or even the occasional CNN, you may get a heads up on an issue or event that your readers may not be aware of and you could blog about it.

4) This Week in Blog - the blogosphere is filled with news itself and this is a great resource. “This Week In Blog” means that you can write a blog post about what some other bloggers have done this week that inspired you, informed you and motivated you to participate. This could be anything from a great post to a contest even. Your readers like to know whats going on, so tell them!

Well, this ends another one of my famous lists and hopefully you can get something out of it. I am currently trying to get back on my feet and so I would really appreciate if you could Stumble or Digg this post if you like it! Thanks for reading!

Get Yourself a New Logo!

December 18th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Blog, ReviewMe Reviews

I got a review offer from Laughingbird Software to talk about their new product called The Logo Creator. I have been around the blogosphere and seen several designers trying to add a personal touch to their blogs by having a custom designed logo so that they stand out from the crowd and seeing that trend made me realize that this would be something you guys may be interested in.

The Logo Creator software allows you to take a portfolio of logo designs and personalize it yourself with the use of the software, saving you money by not having a designer do the personalization for you. In essence this software lets you create a new Logo Design with the ease of not having to worry about using any complicated software.

You can resize, rotate, fade, create reflections, shadows, gradients, and add many special effects to your logo. You can also take one image and create several different versions of the logo. They have several sample logos on the website that was created with the software and they actually look really good. They also have several tutorials and an affiliate program that lets you earn upto 30% of every sale. The software is made for Windows XP, Vista and Mac so everyone has access to it. I think its a great way to give your blog or website a little personality so I would recommend checking out the website.

Stand Out as a “Make Money Online” Blog

December 16th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Blog, General, Make Money Online

Considering the fact that there are several hundred “Make Money Online” websites out there (including this one), you must want to know how you can stand out from the crowd. Obviously, I am no expert but here are some things that you should look at to see if you are a true Make Money Online blog:

1) You actually do make money - this is probably the biggest part of the whole genre of “making money online”. If you look at CarlOCab or JohnChow, they do indeed make money and thats what keeps them in business. This blog does make money too and although the earnings vary based on a good month and a bad month, it does pull in a certain amount of income regardless.

2) You can provide tips - its great if YOU make money but people come to your blog to find out how THEY can make money and if you don’t give them an insight as to how you do it, then they are not going to be interested. You have to part with your knowledge to be able to gain some money. Remember the saying, you have to give some to get some, well thats how it works!

3) You have some credibility - this comes without saying but there have been several cases where people post unbelievable amounts of so-called earnings however they really aren’t making any money at all. People like JohnChow have gained credibility over the course of his blogs existence however, its always good to be honest with your readers because they are not going to be happy if they find out that you are one of “those”.

4) It is indeed possible - this basically means that it is possible for others to make money the way you did in the sense that you did not have some advantages over the general public in earning your fortunes. For example, if you had special affiliate deals signed with advertisers because of prior contact or networking then this may not be as realistic to the ordinary blogger out there. You have to provide means that most everyone is capable of following.

Well those were some tips as to how you can set yourself apart as a “Make Money Online” blog. Hopefully you liked the post and if you did please Stumble it or Digg it! I would really appreciate it. Have a great week ahead. Stay tuned for more posts!

Know Your Stock Picks!

December 12th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Blog, General, ReviewMe Reviews

As many of you know, I am a business major and so the financial markets are of great interest to me. If you watch any business related TV shows such as Bloomberg or Jim Cramer’s Mad Money, then you will notice that a lot of them mention their favorite stocks and provide insight into what stocks to invest in and so forth. Well, I came across a website called Fast Money Stock Picks that actually provides the latest updates from Fast Money CNBC.

This site helps you catch up with the best stock picks in case you missed the show or just need a little direction in terms of which stock to invest in. I think the website is well designed. The layout is pretty good and finding the stock picks isn’t a hassle. I could say that the Google Adsense ads are a bit distracting and that there are too many of them there, but since it is a free service, I can’t do much complaining.

I did go through the stock picks and they seem to be valuable to those who are looking to Buy and Sell. It provides advice to those who earn certain stocks and if you haven’t got your stock picks elsewhere then this might be the right place. I have to say that the stock picks are updated quite frequently which shows that the blogger has maintained the website. Hopefully some of you are able to find this helpful and make use of this resource! Check it out!
