A Logo To Get You Gold

I have been playing around with my logo for the past week after deciding to finally make it official and here is my new logo. I wanted to make it simple yet a little bit of uniqueness to it so there it is. Its nothing fancy and thats kind of what I wanted. After deliberating the logo for so long I figured that it would be a good idea to talk about how a good logo can help you out in the blogosphere. Lets look at why this can be beneficial to you:
1. Brand Recognition – Probably the biggest reason out there is that when people think about your blog, they should immediately picture your logo. Theres a reason why brands such as McDonalds, Coca Cola and Shell have the best brand recognition out there because, for example, as soon as someone says McDonalds you think of a yellow M, referred to as the golden arches. Its about how people will remember you.
2. Uniqueness - It sets your blog apart from others you have their title in plain text format. It sort of ties in with the earlier one. If your logo is impressive enough then it lets the reader know that you put in the effort to stand out and to make an initial impression. Being unique in your logo design aside from picking one that you like and replicating it also helps establish yourself in the future.
3. Ads & Videos – You can finally have ads that implement your logo and it creates a sense of professionalism. This again ties into the idea that people will recognize your ads once they see your logo. Also, you can add your logo to your videos so that way, it can help people relate the name of your blog to your logo and it helps make it more professional as well.
WARNING: Excellent Examples Below
Aside from that theres many other ways that a logo can help you but it follows along the general list I’ve created above. I decided that it would be fun to look at a few logos from the blogosphere that I think are great examples:
So, I hope you enjoyed my posts and hopefully you guys can see why the above logos are the ones that I have picked. They possess all the qualities of a logo that I have listed and are visually very appealing. So, if youre looking for a new logo then look for INSPIRATION from the above logos. Just to clarify, inspiration does not mean to replicate but to actually learn and visualize. Let me know what you think about logos and what you think makes a logo stand out. Thanks again for stopping by!

Awesome post, love the examples (especially that one from “thenetfool.com”… hmm, that guy must really know what he’s doing).
I really like your new logo, though I feel that it’s actually not fantastic for blog branding/recognition. I feel like the recognition right now is from the picture of you next to it… are you replacing that with the Beijing medal? I’m a bit confused
Also: Anyone else noticing the Balkis/Shoemoney similarity? Looks like Syed took a cue from Shoe on that one!
Haha. I assumed you’d like The Net Fool logo. I think my picture has always been a part of the branding even though I don’t consider it the logo as such but its always been there. I did notice the Superman similarity but Balkhi’s logo is quite different aside from the diamond shape.
Good post again. Yeah….you picked some good examples…as they are all pretty good.
I need to get a logo of some sort…I have a header, but a logo is something different all together. I’m just not sure where I want to go with it!
A decent logo is one of the important factor that comes in play in ranking the design of a site. Glad to see I made in the list
I agree. I love your logo! I really should look into getting a logo, it would really make my blog stand out and be different… it wouldn’t be just another blog, but it would be a blog someone can recognize. I’m not creative so I usually hire that kind of stuff out. I’ll have to do that when I make a final decision on the color scheme!
Wow, I’m flattered to be on that list! Although, I use my big head as a logo more than anything else, and I can’t take credit for that because I was born with it.
There are downsides to having a melon this big, but I get free advertising offline wherever I go. I’m like a six foot bobblehead billboard that’s always promoting SuiteJ.com.
Good stuff on creating your own logo.
Thanks again for the mention
Cheers!
