Everyone is familiar with seeing an “Advertise” page on most of their favorite blogs but have you ever thought about having one of your own? If you have a good blog that has consistent readers and you feel that your rankings are up to par, you should definitely create an Advertise page as it will help you address questions that potential advertisers of your blog may have. The Advertise Page has to have certain components to be able to be effective, so lets take a look at what you might want to consider looking into:
1) First off, mention your stats, let them know why you are a credible blog and what gives you the authority to actually have advertising spots for sale. The whole concept of this is to gain credibility and let your advertisers know what they are getting in return for their money. Also be sure to keep your stats updated on a monthly basis so that they do not represent old data.
2) Several options for advertising is another key point. If you have an Advertise page and all you offer is text links then you aren’t broadening your advertising options. If you provide banners, 125×125 button ads, site reviews and text link ads, you have a higher chance of reaching a larger audience by offering several different options for advertising.
3) Contact information is necessary and so is the information about what people get for their money. If you don’t really say how long an ad is going to be up or where it will be placed then advertisers may be hesitant to purchase any ad. You need to let them know where the ad will be placed and you need to let them know how to contact you if they are interested in purchasing any of your advertising options.
There are several good examples, but I feel that I have done a decent job in putting together my page so definitely go and check it out to get some ideas as to how you may want to set up your own “Advertise” page. Well hopefully that will give you a little insight into why you might considering creating an Advertise page. I also use it as a way for me to set goals and meet them when it comes down to my rankings. Hope that helps and by a show of comments, who actually has a functioning “Advertise” page and if you do, please leave a link to it in the comments as I would like to check them out! Thanks!
