Well happy new year man! That does suck about losing a machine…but you’ll bounce back. Maybe you’ll come through with a nice intel i7!!!

Yeah, I’m just going to use my laptop when Im at home so I’m using that instead but the screen size becomes an issue with photo editing and stuff.

I would actually put in a new motherboard myself but I actually have to buy mine from Dell just because of the way the system is built. I went to a few electronic warehouses and they said that I need to call Dell directly to buy the motherboard so yeah. We’ll see. I have alternatives in the meanwhile so ill make it work as long as I can . Thanks for the suggestion though! Hopefully your power supply gets fixed soon!

I’d suggest checking Tiger or Newegg for mobo/processor combos that you could then just plug in to your existing case and other parts…might be cheaper than you think.

I totally sympathize though, I have a power supply that recently went out and I still need to fix, luckily I have other computers available so it’s not super urgent. Perhaps when school starts up again you can spend some time in a computer lab and get some stuff done until you can get yours fixed.

Hopefully Intel will help you out with your new computer. I myself just go buy what I want and its usually not to expensive. Usually under $2k anyways.. lol I know o=it sounds like lots but not really.

Maybe see if someone will donate an old one too you..

Btw, intel was founded in 1968 so you’re not really an early adopter
