I May Have Caught Google!
July 25th, 2008 Posted in General
Okay, so its a Friday afternoon and I’m looking for a particular website and I head over to Google as I usually do and to my surprise I come up on a search page that I’ve never seen before. It includes a blue line including things such as PR, Alexa, Technorati, Yahoo Links, MSN Links, etc under each of the search items. I decided to take a screenshot and post it so maybe some of you guys might know what this is all about. Click on the image below for a really large screenshot.
Update: It seems to have been a newly installed SEO plugin for Firefox that displays the results such on Google. I thought I was onto something! Oh well, It was fun while it lasted!

That is strange, never come across anything like that on Google before.
I can’t see why they would want that info there for the average Google user, maybe it’s a webmaster feature they’re working on? Or possibly an internal tool that somehow you found?
The results show up like that for me in Google because I have SeoQuake installed. It says “SeoQuake” right before all of the stats and the picture that you posted doesn’t show that. Maybe you have something else installed on your computer?
Thanks for this Debby. It turns out that I did install an SEO Plugin for Firefox and it displays that. I have never seen it before so I’m actually surprised as to why it shows up like that. Still quite weird.
That’s pretty crazy! It’s probably a good thing that you figured it out so quickly, it might be kinda useful though….except there aren’t any numbers filled in on any of the results though :S
Yeah I didn’t really know what it was since it was the first time I had seen it.
haha. For a moment I thought you actually caught a Google blooper!
I thought I was onto something myself. Sadly, I just didn’t know thats what the SEO tool did!
I was searching for a tool like this, nice coincidence!
