Who knew that the practical use of a cellphone would be so blown out of proportion – apparently Apple and LG definitely did, or at least Apple did. With hefty price tags, a large touchscreen display, and sleek designs both the Apple’s iPhone and LG Prada are out to appeal to the audience that believes that cell phones are no longer just for functional use but instead are a fashion statement. LG might have been the first on the market to come out with a large touchscreen interface based cell phone but, the idea was first brought about by Apple and although Apple did point out that LG has taken their idea, they realized how to compete with them. Apple is infamous for taking what someone else has done, and then taking it one step higher. Take the iPod for example, today the iPod is by far one of the most popular music and video players and has become a commonplace with the youth of today. The LG Prada phone does look nice without a doubt but then again, Apple is undoubtedly one of the best when it comes to creating stunning designs – external product design as well as user interface designs. For a price tag of around $800 the LG’s Prada comes quite scarcely equipped – it doesnt have 3G (maybe in European models), no Wifi, not enough space (around 8mb expandable) and a not so impressive talk-time battery life. In comparison, the iPhone comes quite well equipped at around $600, the iPhone comes very well equipped with 8GB of space (the 4GB costing around $500), a larger screen (3.5 inches) with a better resolution (320 x 480 compared to LG’s 240 x 400), Wifi is also built in and with a talk time almost double of the LG Prada Phone, Apple may just have hit the jackpot.
Although, this may not be a complete coverage of all the specs and features, it surely does prove that the iPhone will definitely be the winner of the two. With a price 3/4 the price of the Prada and with double the features, its quite obvious as to which one of the two takes the cake.
Here are some videos about the two phones, since LG’s Prada is already on the market, there is a walk through video available and only a short 2 minute demo video of Apple’s iPhone.
