Is Niche A Big Issue?
So lately I’ve noticed that a lot of the old Make Money Online niche blogs are either non-existent, taking a hiatus (like I was) or have switched niches. I dont seem to understand what the concept is but I believe that it has to do with a few big blogs dominating the competition and making it really hard for the small blogs with good content to move up. So heres a few things to considering if you’re just starting out:
1) Your Niche Matters – readers will decide to read your blog if you have a good topic that can attract a lot of readers. So lets say you like to talk about two things that you do very well, mowing the lawn or working on cars. There is a bigger market for blogging about cars and that would be the better pick. Pick a niche that will appeal to a bigger audience.
2) Love Your Niche – If you don’t feel strongly about the niche of your blog then you’re not being honest with your readers. If I really like technology but I start up a blog about politics then I’m really not showing my readers a subject matter that I am passionate about. Thats one of the biggest reason I have stuck around with my niche for so long regardless of the ups and downs.
3) Be Yourself – This is the biggest personal aspect of your blogging that can affect your niche. You have to say what you feel and say it the way you would normally say it. This adds a personal touch and shows your reader your enthusiasm about the topic and it just works better for interacting with your audience.
So those are my 3 big things that I can think of that are some things to think about when coming up with ideas for your blog niche. For those of you who are just starting up and need some help, dont be hesitant to ask me for help by emailing me. Hope you guys liked the post! Have a great weekend!

I’ve also noticed that quite a few of the make money online blogs have went away, but I think you’re right that it was an oversaturated niche to begin with.
I think it’s also important to remember that a blog will have two general types of readers: other bloggers and people looking for the information that your site provides (gardening info, vehicle test drive reviews, ham radio info, etc) and that you have to provide worthwhile content to both groups.

Yep, focus is important. Finding a popular focus (niche) is the tough part.
