Keep Your Blog Relationship Alive
If you read the title quickly I was hoping that you’d miss the word “Blog” and assume that today I’d be giving you relationship advice but thats not true. In fact, if I was giving you relationship advice, you’d probably want to look elsewhere but since this is blog advice, you’re at the right place. The whole idea of blog relationship is how you should treat your blog and WHY you should try to maintain it for the longest time possible.
Keeping a blog relationship, as in a relationship between you and your blog is highly important. If you don’t like your blog or aren’t passionate about blogging it can be clearly seen in the type and quality of your posts. Its easy to notice and your readers will be the first to mention that your post was not up to mark. Your readers are not looking to critique you but are looking out for you to make sure that you’re on the right track.
The blog relationship also allows you to express your thoughts freely. There are many people who like to be quiet and a blog allows them to talk in a manner that doesn’t require them to actually speak. Giving up on your blog is like losing a medium of communication. Even if you don’t want to write a blog regularly or about a certain topic you should at least have a person blog to vent your thoughts or ideas on.
Your blog relationship also allows you to connect with thousands of people that comment and email you. You start to get to know more people and its almost a way of socializing and networking with others you may have some of the same goals so its a good way to help keep you focused on your final goal. It gets you motivated and helps you accomplish something.
Your blog also allows you to influence those around you. You write blog posts to not only provide help to people but to give them advice and you honestly feel nice when you have people email you back or comment saying that you gave them good advice. Its a good feeling that I know many of you have experienced.
Keeping your blog relationship alive is also important because your readers have associated you with your blogs brand. If you sell your blog then your audience finds it hard to adjust to the new voice of your blog. By being consistent with posts, you are able to gain popularity due to the association of your name with your blog. This concept is a bit difficult to understand but those of you know who know about this will tend to agree.
Well, I hope you liked my short post about keeping your blog relationships alive! I hope you enjoyed it and give me your thoughts on this. Consider this question, If you were to ever sell your blog, would you start up another one when you had the chance?

As I have said before, I am pretty sure that I won’t be selling my site any time soon…with some of the other projects I have in mind though, if I sold them, I probably wouldn’t try to replicate them…

I think the best way to keep blog relationship alive is to comment on other posts and join their personal communities like twitter, facebook, mybloglog or whatever.

Of course any kinda relationship should be healthy, especially when you are the one speaking out. Its like you sit on a receiving side, waiting for comments!

That is true, I really like reading the comments on my posts and the emails that I receive. I have a dilemma usually with the number of emails I get since I have to “hunt” to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
