Nissan Altima Coupe : Build Your Own Now Available!
The 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe is finally available today (May 25th 2007) after a long awaited wait since it was first unveiled. This is Nissan’s attempt to take on the market segment that is currently dominated by Honda’s Accord Coupe and Toyota’s Camry Solara. But the Nissan has something else to offer, a front wheel drive coupe. Although it may look similar to the Nissan Altima Sedan, dont be mistaken because it rides on all new body panels, except for the hood. The Altima Coupe is available in 2 styles, the 2.5S comes with a 2.5 liter-four-cylinder that delivers 175hp and 180 pound-feet whereas the 3.5SE comes with a brawny V6 that delivers 270hp and 258 pound-feet of torque, also a 6 speed transmission. All models come standard with manual transmission however the 6 speed Xtronic CVT (or continuously variable transmission) Automatic transmission adds only $500 to the MSRP on both models. The 3.5SE has a VQ-Series V6 which delivers amazing performance even when paired with the CVT. With a 0-60 of 6.4 seconds, and a quarter mile in 14.8 seconds the Nissan Altima Coupe certainly shows its ability. Nissan’s new coupe is 4 inches shorter in terms of wheelbase when compared to the Altima sedan, meaning that the cabin is still quite roomy for being a sports coupe. While the 2.5S comes equipped with only a 175hp engine, it will be the more popular of the two, and it could be due to price. The 2.5S starts at around $20,000 and the 3.5SE at around $24,500. Its no surprise that the Altima Coupe will be a popular car when once compares its sports car design to its affordable price tag. The mileage is also quite good, the 2.5S is rated at 26 city 32 highway and the 3.5SE at 19 city and 26 highway. The interior ofcourse is very typical Nissan, a little bland in some areas but functional. The dash seems well laid out and the controls are easy to understand and use. The trunk space may be small at under 8 cubic feet but it only gets better due to the 60/40 split rear seats that fold completely flat. If youre in the market for a sports coupe that delivers great mileage, ride comfort and comes with a great reliability then the Nissan Altima Coupe may be a great choice.
Earlier this morning, Nissan updated their website with the Altima Coupe and you can start building your Nissan Altima Coupe as of right now!
