I Have a Bone to Pick

Scion xB

As you all know, I am a big car guy and I have test driven a wide variety of cars and I generally critique cars – whether I like them or dislike them – even if I own them.

Now before I start talking about the image above, I just want to clarify that I own a Toyota and I actually like the Scion lineup. The problem that I have is I wonder, I really really wonder why Toyota — or better said, the designers of the xB decided that it might be better to design the car with only one reverse light as you can see from the image above.

As you probably know, most cars have two lights that turn on when you switch to reverse. Well, in the Scion xB you’d think something was wrong when only one light would turn on – which is on the lowest left hand corner. I just think its a really weird set up and its sort of a design flaw in my opinion.

Honestly, I don’t even own an xB and as a consumer I feel that I’m getting jipped off! I just thought it would be interesting today to talk about some things that interest me personally – it might not be a big deal but I still think its something I should get off my chest!

I hope you liked this short post and I just wanted to see what your opinions would be about this – do you think there is a specific reason why there is only one reverse light? or is that just something that needs to be fixed? I just want to see if anyone else thinks this is as weird as I do. Have a good weekend!

HB Markets – Have You Heard About It?

Like many of you, the sinking stock market kind of has me bummed and although I, unlike most others, don’t have much to lose, I still want to make sure that my trades are being processed at the best prices.

I use AmeriTrade and they can be somewhat expensive when it comes down to certain things but apparently a company by the name of HB markets is willing to make a difference.

They consider themselves the stockbrokers that are different from everyone else. They suggest that stockbroking is not just about the stock market breaking news, share dealing, penny shares and share tips and that it extends beyond that. They say that it should not revolve just around researching the market, analyzing the share news, share prices or studying the AIM and Plus markets.

They offer a variety of different services including advisory broking, small company shares, online trading, advisoring and execution-only CFD’s, spread betting, ISA’s and SIPP’s. Although I’m not an expert in all of this and nor is the blog really about the financial markets, I thought it would be interesting to see a brokerage firm on here.

Oddly enough, the website seems pretty well laid out and I have seen some websites that claim to have low trade prices and such but HB Markets doesn’t focus on that. I think their overall approach is their depth of services.

Either way, How good they are, I don’t know but it seems like they know what they’re talking about. I guess it all boils down to real user reviews. To be honest, I had never heard of them, have you?

Get Your Domain Appraised.

There have been times that I have received emails from people offering me a certain amount of money to buy EnkayBlog.com and my main reason for not selling it is because EnkayBlog.com is my baby! I started this website as part of being an MMO blog and I have become attached to it. Whenever I received the offers, I never knew what the website was worth – or if it was worth anything at all. The website makes money and it still makes money, but I’m not sure what its value is.

I wondered if there were any Domain Appraisal websites out there and sure enough, I came across domainappraisal.org. Theres a lot of other tools out there that you can use but the value that they assess really isnt effective. The problem with the free or other types of domain appraisals is that they are just giving you a value for entertainment purposes. Most of them give you a value based on the links coming in and such but they use a variety of factors to evaluate the value of the blog. They test the domain with a 15 factor analysis which checks various attributes that would affect the value of your domain.

Then t domain is appraised by an industry expert that they have on-hand. They promise appraisals to be completed within 4 days and doesn’t use any type of scripts of any sort. Basically, its not automated so everything is actually done by actual industry experts who are real people. They also provide you with an appraisal certificate in PDF form and they guarantee that your domain will sell within 12% of the appraised value and that the IRS will accept their valuation.

To help you further understand the website, they are BBB accredited and their services are fairly accurate. I sort of want to spend the $30 and get EnkayBlog evaluated however, since I dont want to sell it, I really dont have a need for it but maybe you do. If you do, go ahead and give it a shot and let me know what your blog or website is appraised at.

Real-Time GPS Tracking – LandAirSea

As many of you know, I have a somewhat newer Toyota 4Runner and when I bought the car, I had the GPS tracking security system installed and paid an arm and a leg for it – mostly because the security of having it is quite amazing. Well, I got a review opportunity from Land Air Sea for similar GPS Tracking systems that they sell that do just the same job, if not better, for quite a lot less.

I talk about cars a lot and thats because I know quite a bit about cars in general and basically, I think that investing in something like this is a good investment. What LandAirSea Systems offers is GPS devices that offer real time tracking where you can actually login and view where your car is on an actual map – similar to Google Maps. After looking at some of the prices, I realize that its not a bad deal after all, some of the basic systems cost as low as $199 and you don’t pay any monthly fees. To give you an idea, Toyota or Lexus charges around $1200-$1400 dollars for their systems and the monthly fees are around $15-$20.

I think LandAirSea have an awesome deal with these systems and they work very well and I think if you need one of these systems, then for $200, its a great price. I think that the real-time tracking system is a really great technical innovation and the LandAirSea mapping system that shows the location of the car is a great feature as well because most of these tracking system websites don’t look as good either. So, check it out!

Already Hosting At It Again

Webhosting lately has taken a turn for the worst and I have received some messages and emails from people that use 1and1 and complained about how bad the service was that they received. I also received emails regarding pretty much all the other hosting companies. But, as is the case with restaurants as well, people usually speak up when they have problems rather than when they are satisfied.

So,web hosting by AlreadyHosting is basically meant to help you reduce any bad cases that you might run into. There are hosting deals that i see all the time on forums that are offering hosting for under $20 a year with a free domain. If you take a second and think about it, the domain itself is around $8 meaning that youre paying a $1 a month for the hosting. How good do you think the hosting will be?

Well, Already Hosting will let you see the different hosting companies as well as the features that you get for the prices that you pay. Basically, you can go to the website, see the monthly price, see what you will get for that money and even a rating for the hosting service itself. They even provide a review of the hosting service which is a useful tool as well. Its important to use a service like this, because you can see the services that you receive for the price you pay. It also shows you how reliable the hosting company is. They even have hosts organized by different categories so you can find the best host to meet your needs. They even show you any avaiable coupons. So, if youre looking to find hosting, either send me an email or check out AlreadyHosting!
