Thank You! First 10 Sponsors!

September 5th, 2007 Posted in Blog, Contests, Hot Deals

Well, It has been about 13 hours since The Wall Of Blogs was launched and it didn’t take very long for the first 10 sponsors to jump on board. A total of 18 spots have been filled, on the top fold of the wall of course. The 10 Sponsors are:

One Penny Project
Derrik Dyka - Flipping Rich & SilentPillow
Darin - Search Engine Marketing
Tyson - Some Make Money
BetShopBoy - Singapore Blogger
Abhijeet - Life Is Colourful
Derek Semmler
Brian Aldrich - The Prize Blog
My Blog Contest
Nick - Roman Dock

There are still 14 spots remaining on the top fold and as mentioned earlier, I have reduced the number of blocks to 640 mainly to make sure that the wall isn’t too long. This does cut on my part of the income but that truly doesn’t matter as long as my advertisers get their money’s worth. Doing this has also increased your chances of winning the $1000 that I will be giving away once the spots are filled.

What I will be doing is breaking down the 640 blocks into levels and those levels will be sequentially rotated on a daily basis meaning that EVERYONE will have the opportunity to be in the top fold several times a month. Also, this question was raised several times and I wanted to let you guys know that the ad block you purchase is there for LIFE. The wall will remain up forever and the domain is on auto-renew so do not worry about that. $5 for a 125×125 ad block for Life is a pretty great deal in my eyes but its all up to you when you want to get in on it.

Thanks again to my first 10 sponsors and I am sure that you will not be disappointed! Thanks again :)

Hey bro

The ad block sales already doing great druing pre-launch, I’m sure this new “baby” of yours will do very well when more high profile sites blog about it and more people take notice of it.

The $5 for a 125×125 block for LIFE is definitely a steal!

Thanks BetShopBoy. I will be re-doing the grids where people will have more incentive to purchase a block and where all the sponsors will have their ad displays at the top of the page several times during a month. Many people wondered whether it was $5 per month and so I wanted to clear it up that its a one-time fee and after that it will always be on there.

Once I looked things over, I figured that $5 was worth the gamble to see what kind of traffic that it could bring to the site.

I think you did a great job setting the price at a point where people will be willing to grab a block for fun and to try their luck at winning some of the money.

I didn’t really know what image to use for my square but went with something that I thought might attract a fair amount of clicks.

Thanks Derek. A few people have emailed me and commented that your image is hillarious so I am sure that it will help you get a bunch of clicks. I decided that $5 per block wasn’t too much to ask for and that the cash prize incentive is certainly a good idea too. Thanks again for getting a block!

Haha, Abhijeet, What happened was that people wondered why they would pay the same amount as everyone else and not be in the top fold. This rotation method won’t push you down at all. You will still have your spot, its just that on a daily basis it will randomize the people who will be at the top of the page so everyone gets equal coverage either ways. Hope that makes sense! :)

You snooze, you lose!

While I don’t personally care for the rotating spots because I grabbed a nice block, I understand it will probably increase your chances of selling all of the blocks.

Thanks Life!

Creating that image was fun and gave me a chance to mess around a little with Photoshop. The best part was that I actually won a little contest with that image.

Quick question for you. Since you lowered the total to 640 blocks, how does that affect the prize drawing? Is it still one winner after the first 500 sell and then another winner after they are sold out? Let me know so that I can be sure to have the right information on the post I made yesterday.

Well As soon as half of 640 sell, which is 320, I will give away the $500 prize and so forth. It just increases chances of winning :)

Thanks! I saw your spot. I really hope I can give away the first $500 soon. I plan on having 640 squares so as soon as 320 sell then I can give the first 500 away. I figure that since 31 have sold already that I am on a good start. I also think that if more ad blocks sell, I might extend it to the original 1000 blocks and give another $500 away meaning a total of $1500 but for now its set at 640 squares total and $1000 total.
