I have started to realize what advertising such as 125×125 banners or even a website review can do for a product or service. I recently sold out almost all of my 125×125 banners and lately I’ve picked up on quite a few website reviews as well. The big idea is, why should you advertise and does it really do anything good for me? We’ll lets start with why you should advertise first of all.

By the way, this isn’t self promotion, you can pick a blog that you want to advertise on, this is just an example on my behalf based on my results based on reviews done on my blog.

Here is why you should advertise:

1) Different Viewpoints - When you advertise your product, service or your blog you are able to get the reviewers take on what they think about what you have to offer. It lets the blogger tell you the pros and cons and gives you a different viewpoint on whatever it is that you want to advertise.

2) Traffic – Well, probably the main reason you advertise is because it helps you reach a new audience. It helps you get traffic because of the readers and subscribers on the blog that you advertise on. This is important because it helps you reach a reader base you may not have reached otherwise.

3) Create Buzz – Creating a buzz means that you are able to advertise on more than one blog and once people see you more than just once on a few different blogs they will be more tempted to check you out. This might mean spending $200 to advertise on 5-8 medium sized blogs and gaining a good amount of traffic or sales.

Here is what it can do for you:
I have picked a few of my posts and searched terms on Google to see how they stand. Lets take a look at a few of my posts even the ones that weren’t paid reviews:

1 – InfoLinks – I know I’ve mentioned them because I was happy with them. Well, search for “Infolinks Kontera” and you’ll see me in the Top 5 results or if you type “Infolinks Review“, I’m on the first page out of 200,000 plus results. (Original Post)

2 – Market Leverage - I love Market Leverage and the contest they sponsored with me shows up a lot. So much so that I still get traffic from it. Try typing in “market leverage laptop” and you’ll find 5 out of the 10 posts being either my blog contest or linking back to my blog contest. This is out of 225,000 plus results. Don’t even get me started on how many hits I get from people that are looking for an Asus EEE PC. (Original Post)

3 – Beauty Holding Review – I did a review for Beauty Holding not too long ago and if you type in “Invest In Models” or “Beauty Holding” you’ll find my blogs post on the first page out of over 25 million results. (Original Post)

4 – Publicity Wheel Review- I also did a review for Publicity Wheel recently and if you search for “publicity wheel” in Google, you’ll find me on the first page once again out of 1.7 million results. (Original Post)

5 – Blogging eBook - As many of you know I wrote an ebook recently and if you search for “blogging ebook” im on the first page as well. Its kind of tough to be on the first page but I’m there. This is out of 3.5 million results. (Original post)

So hopefully after all those examples, you might consider advertising more. I know that many bloggers charge what I charge for a review ($20) and you can get a good bit of exposure over the life of the post for your money. So if you’ve thought about it and want to buy a review at this blog or your favorite blog or on a couple of blogs then you should definitely think about it more. I know that sooner or later I’ll be investing in advertising on other blogs. What do you have to say about advertising?
