What Makes Up Your Blogging Paradise?
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire One. For those of you who don’t know what that is, its a really nice ultraportable that has a 8.9″ screen, runs Windows Xp, has a 120GB Hard Drive and is referred to as a netbook mainly because it weighs 2.2 lbs and has no cd/dvd drive. Why would anyone want this device? Well, when you consider the $350 price tag and the fact that you can take it anywhere with you, you might want to reconsider. What I’ve been wondering is that, what do you consider your mobile blogging paradise?
Let me give you an example of my main setup which is where I do most of my school work as well as blogging and plus this functions as a mini movie theater.

The main system is a few years old but it has my 22″ Samsung HD Monitor, the 5.1 THX Surround System, Scanner/Copier, Printer, External Hard Drive and pretty much anything else you’d need. I use it most of the time when blogging because I get to do my photoshop editing as well.
The other devices you see from right to left are NEC MobilePro 900C (Windows 4.2 .Net), NEC MobilePro 780 (Windows CE 3.0) and the newly acquired Acer Aspire One.
The two MobilePros are very portable and I usually use them to get most of my notes taken care of during class. They both are about 1lb and have great battery life and that means I can get the job done in class without any issues. Plus, its instant on-off, meaning that you don’t have to wait for it to start up or shut down so thats a major plus for me.
The Acer Aspire One helps me get the job done when I need a little bit more than internet and word processing. I take it to school to get projects done and even quite a bit of mobile blogging. I’m able to get most of my school work accomplished as well as it gives me mobility at home when I dont want to be tied down to my desktop.
Usually when I travel I would just need my Acer and I’d be fine but I know that many of you carry around external hard drives, a portable mouse and several other devices. What makes up your blogging paradise and what do you need when you travel?

I am not totally mobile yet, I really want to get one of those small laptops, the acer looks nice, as does the new Dell mini laptop. I think those are a dream come true for bloggers. You have a nice setup there, I’m very interested in that Acer! They are sold out in our Best Buy but I’m sure I can find one online
So, this is the little laptop you were telling me about. I’m sure it’s very light to carry when you’re walking around campus. You better believe that I will definitely purchase a tiny computer if Apple decides to create one. Great purchase!!!
Did you consider the Asus EEE PC, or the HP Mini Note?
Yes, a netbook of some description is top of my list but I’m yet to secure one. They seem to be coming out of the woodwork now. I think that’s good as we’ll see more innovation and price competition amongst them.
goodness, would love to have some of those devices. no mobile blogging for me unfortunately. but am currently eyeing one of the first generation asus eee netbooks, mostly because they’re cheap. :O i love my thinkpad, but it’s large and heavy.
if i still had my el cheapo lg ku250 phone, i’d probably consider blogging with it, using 3g and opera mini.
Wow, you seem to be tech freako!
Looks good Nabil … I need to get a bigger screen now
Yeah, I want to add another 22″ sometime soon!
Thanks for reminding me, I have that series I need to finish….I would like to get a device like the EEE PC or one of your mini-laptops, but will have to wait and see what happens. I’ve also though one of the laptop/tablet convertibles might be nice to have.
